Post Procrastination

It’s been a while… I’ve been procrastinating

A whole month has passed since my last post.

For years, procrastination has cost me an unfathomed amount of time.

As a solo entrepreneur, nobody is keeping tabs on you. Nobody is making sure you’re at your desk, working your butt off.

If I decide to watch Netflix all day, absolutely nothing will be affected apart, of course, my productivity.

That’s why for me procrastination can come very easy.

In the beginning,

when we set the goal, we feel motivated. As each additional day passes, the resistance starts to grow.

As more time passes by, we feel more overwhelmed, especially if we have attempted to start several times, and failed. It stacks up, but in a wrong direction.

I came across this line:

If necessary, sacrifice the quality, and the quantity, for the sake of consistency.

My understanding of it is completing any work is better than no work at all.

How To Beat It:

  • Look back at the main reasons on why you procrastinated.

The excuses you give yourself (it’s hard, you don’t know how to do it, etc), and the distractions in your environment (the internet, television, people, food, etc).

  • Stop beating yourself up.

The moment you forgive yourself, you will feel relieved, and slowly start to regain that original motivation, or motivation 2.0.

  • Act.

Pick a goal today — no matter how minor it is. JUST DO IT.

Even though it’s simple, it’s not easy.
